May 30, 2010 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- A group calling for immigration reform held a vigil Sunday night near Pres. Barack Obama's South Side home.

Many of those taking part were immigrants who have loved ones in the military.

They called on the president to stop deportations saying they separate families.

The protestors say their contributions to this country and the military go unnoticed.

One of the participants in Sunday night's vigil was a young woman who is undocumented and also married to an American in the military.

"He's worried... Husband comes back," said Fanny Martinez.

" The main message... Deported themselves," Sonny Garcia said.

Members of the group said they planned to be out all night Sunday and that they would hold another prayer vigil Monday morning.
