A vigil and potluck dinner will be held Saturday in Greeley to mark the third anniversary of the immigration raid at Swift & Co. (now JBS USA) in December 2006.

Ricardo Romero, director of Al Frente de la Lucha community center, said a vigil will take place at 4:30 p.m. The vigil will last for about 15 minutes in front of the center, 919 8th St.

The ceremony will then move across the street to the Jesus Rodarte Center, 920 A St., for a potluck supper. Romero said three families that were affected by the raids will make presentations about their experience. Co-pastors from Family of Christ Presbyterian Church in Greeley will also speak at the Rodarte Center.

In December 2006, the Greeley plant was raided along with six other Swift plants by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. About 262 workers were arrested in Greeley.

Romero said 33 families from the raid still have cases on appeal and court dates stretching until 2011.

Saturday's events are open to the public.
